Join the Muslim Student Association at WashU for an inspiring and transformative evening with Abdul-Mun’im Jitmoud, a man whose extraordinary act of forgiveness captivated the world. In the aftermath of his son’s tragic murder, Jitmoud faced the unimaginable: coming face to face with his son’s killer in court. In a profound display of faith and mercy, he publicly forgave the man and embraced him, leaving the courtroom and the world deeply moved. His actions, rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), demonstrate the transformative power of mercy and forgiveness.

This event is an opportunity to reflect on universal themes of compassion, healing, and faith. Abdul-Mun’im Jitmoud will share his personal story, the role of his Islamic faith in guiding his actions, and the lessons we can all learn about the strength it takes to forgive.

Open to all members of the WashU and greater St. Louis community, this talk invites people of all backgrounds to explore how mercy can bridge divides and bring light to the darkest moments.
